BOWDOINHAM
A 13-star American flag hanging upside down from a Bowdoinham mans porch has captured eyes and jeers from a few passers-by, but the owner says his protest isnt intended to be divisive.
Flying the flag upside down is not a symbol of disrespect. Its not stepping on the flag, its not burning the flag. Its a symbol of international distress, said Gregg McNally. I decided that would be a good way to illustrate my disagreement with whats going on in this country and my grave concern.
McNally said he flipped the flag shortly after President Donald Trump took office. The U.S. Flag Code stipulates that the flag should never be displayed upside down except as a signal of dire distress or in instances where there is a threat to life or property.
McNallys concern stems from the ongoing investigation into alleged collusion between Trumps campaign and Russia. He argued his protest is taking a stand against those who aim to divide.

If you use it as a protest they go batshit.
If you fly it on the back of your pickup your'e patriotic.
Check the flag etiquette that is NOT ALLOWED.
Nor is clothing with the flag.
