I was going to write, I wonder what she has to say about this, but I doubt he listens to her anyway.

I wonder if she's going to work as a waitress this summer, again, like last?

by most restaurant workers to earning the flat hourly rate that is minimum wage for non-tipped positions which is a raise of a few dollars per hour so they are in fact getting higher pay despite LePage being a tightwad. The effect on the servers depends upon whether the servers were kept on the clock during the slower hours or if the servers were constantly busy throughout the entire shift. With the tip credit gone, look for employers to slash their staff when business slows down at certain times of the day--they may even be working split shifts instead based upon the volume of business. It also may mean that the servers might get slammed if there isn't enough staff on hand to handle an unexpected busy period (e.g., a busload of people stopping to eat). The effect of this upon labor is going to vary from restaurant to restaurant based upon the type of cuisine offered and the hours that the restaurant stays open.

Regardless of those factors though, Gov. LePage is a prick, but he is also the lowest paid governor in the country so I understand (but do not condone) why he believes he should make a political point.
