I am P.O.'ed at Angus King right now

Michaud and Lepage are tied in the polls within the margin of error, with Cutler way way behind, and the teevee airwaves are now flooded with Senator King endorsing Cutler. Yes, he has the right to say he thinks Cutler will be the best governor for Maine, but does he even stop to think that he's more likely to get LePage reelected than to get Cutler elected. How does he think that is going to be for Maine?

whether Democrat or third party, would keep a close watch on the polls, and make a decision to back out if it becomes obvious they will end up handing the election to the Republican. (I can understand staying in if the polls don't seem to suggest they will make the difference.) I strongly salute the Dem who dropped out of such a three way race recently, for actually doing what he thought made it more likely that a non-Republican would win, even if it meant he himself would not be that person.

(And yes, I know that everyone who is eligible to run has a right to do so. I just would hope that they might be willing to think a bit more strategically.)
