Feds in New Orleans charge man accused of threatening to kill judge, ex-wife
Federal authorities in New Orleans have filed charges against a Larose man after he was accused of threatening to kill his ex-wife and the state judge who presided over a domestic abuse case against him while being recorded during a telephone conversation last month.
Todd Delaune's ex-wife recorded a telephone conversation with him in which he mentioned purchasing about $10,000 worth of weapons and ammunition, including a grenade launcher he would use against any law enforcement officers who may try to arrest him, said a criminal complaint filed at New Orleans' federal courthouse on March 15.
He allegedly said he was trying to buy "a bazooka from a Marine" for $3,000 and had followed the judge in question not named in the complaint around for 19 days to familiarize himself with the judge's routine. Delaune spoke about how the judge's head would be blown off from a highway near the judge's home, according to the complaint.
Aside from supposedly threatening to murder his ex, the complaint alleged that Delaune referred to the Netflix series "The Punisher," which follows a Marvel Comics vigilante who killed the people who had slain his wife and children.
