.....Gatewood, now Joe.....geeshh......my drummers in-laws were married at High on Rose sometime in the early 60's......what a fabled place High on Rose has achieved in KY 'lore.....

..........I met John 30 yrs ago at High on Rose....he later on worked many yrs at High on Rose and had a down to earth folksy wisdom that I will miss dearly....his 20 yrs as a cab driver in Lexington gave him a perspective of Lexington and KY at large that was right in line with KY folklore understanding.....God Bless you my friend and may your spirit soar....

I video taped his service in Junction City the other day.

He brought me a bunch of flower bulbs twenty years ago, I saw the bearded Iris blooming yesterday and thought of him.
My wife and I met working there with John and our old gang.
I first met John at 'His House' in Campbellsville in '70 or '71.
