Kansas Senate sends pair of election "reform bills" to Governor

TOPEKA, Kan. (KCTV) - The Kansas Senate sent a pair of election reform bills to Governor Laura Kelly on Monday.

SB 5 would ban election officials from accepting funds except via appropriations or when approved by law. SB 6 would ban ranked-choice voting from being used in Kansas.

Those bills join SB 4, which requires all ballots be turned in by 7 p.m. on Election Day, as three election reform bills sitting on Kelly’s desk.

Both SB 5 and SB 6 passed with veto-proof majorities in both chambers.
