Brownback: 'Go Work Somewhere Else' If You Want Contraception

Kansas Gov. Sam Brownback (R) has a simple solution for women who work for religious institutions that refuse to cover birth control: Find a new job.

During a call-in show on C-SPAN Monday morning, a woman named Doris from Osawatomie, Kansas told Brownback that she was worried that he wanted to turn back the clock on women's rights.

"No, goodness," Brownback replied. "That's not true."

"I am concerned that -- along with lots of other red states -- Gov. Brownback feels that we should be the reddest state in the country," Doris explained. "Women's rights are being trampled. He was talking about what President Obama is requiring insurance companies to do, to cover birth control. You know you are taking away the individual woman's right to decide if they need birth control."

Yesterday I attended the voices for Choice luncheon in Topeka. We filled out pink slips for Brownback, telling HIM to go work somewhere else.

if, or how many, children they should have, whether they are a Catholic organization, or an employer. This applies whether the employee is famale or male. All these "religious freedom" laws will apply to both sexes. If you are a male employee, should your employer be able to tell your wife she cannot use BC because of their religion? Should your employer be able to fire you as a female employee, or YOU as a male employee because of your WIFE'S BC? Oh, yes, you MALE employees whose wives us BC can be fired too. SHOW US YOUR BABIES, MEN!!!! Yeah we will pay for your Viagra, because it mean PROCREATION. Show us your CHILDREN!!! As an Ex-Catholic, I know enough about Cannon Law. Viargra good because it can MAKE BABIES!!!!!!

THEOCRACY. If YOUR RELIGION is fine with BC, why should yous employer's religioin TRUMP YOURS? Hello, MEN. This will eventuall come (pardon) down to YOU too.

Kansas would be a better place if he would go crawl back under his rock.

One says: If you cut off my reproductive choice, can I cut off yours?

The other: Women outvote men. Women can vote men out.

I can't seem to grab the image from the order on the internets to post here, alas.

Here in New Mexico we aren't currently dealing with reproductive b.s., just nonsense about not allowing undocumented workers to get drivers licenses. And our dear governor vetoing a bill that would have required the big box stores to pay their share of state taxes.
