(1,055 posts)What is not known until it is too late is that these "Advantage" plans limit participants to restricted networks. In many cases, pre authorizations are required that may not be needed with original Medicare. I encourage everyone who can to use original Medicare along with a supplement that is issue age rated. The rate is based on the age when it was issued, and does not increase as age increases. Once on an 'Advantage" plan, it is possible to go back to original Medicare, however, supplement plans will make you go through underwriting. Pre-existing conditions are still a factor with Medigap supplement plans except for the first time you enroll in one at 65.

Since Medicaid payments are set, the only way for the private business to make "profit" is to cut service.
Cost cutting is not conducive to good health care.
