Gov. Kim Reynolds and Fred Hubbell campaigns agree to three debates

Republican Gov. Kim Reynolds and Democratic challenger Fred Hubbell have agreed to three gubernatorial debates leading up to November's election.

The debates will take place in Des Moines, Sioux City and Davenport in October. All three debates will be hosted by Iowa news organizations.

“We look forward to this opportunity to discuss the issues important to Iowans, and appreciate the invitation from the sponsors,” Reynolds and Hubbell said in a joint statement, according to the news release. “With this agreement, Iowans across the state will have access to a vigorous debate about the future of Iowa.”

The campaigns took a while to come to agreement; last week, they sent out separate news releases each agreeing to three debates. But only one of the debate dates was on the same day.
