Reynolds Appoints Her Father to Panel That Vets Judges

Geez, that sounds kind of conflicty of interestey

Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds has appointed her 78-year-old father to a six-year term on a panel that vets and recommends candidates for open judgeships.

Reynolds on Tuesday announced that she had appointed Charles Strawn of Saint Charles to the District 5A Judicial Nomination Commission, among two dozen other appointments to similar commissions.

The governor's announcement didn't mention that Strawn is her father, but press secretary Brenna Smith confirmed the relationship.

Smith says that Strawn was one of three applicants for two openings on the 10-member District 5A commission, which recommends judges who serve in Dallas, Guthrie, Jasper, Madison, Marion and Warren counties.

If there was a Democrat at Terrace Hill who did that the Republicans would never stop screaming about it.

When I take the MPRE later this summer I'm having the results sent to Minnesota. If Iowa goes bright blue throughout the state I might think about staying, but right now that's not likely. Kim, Joni, Rod, Shannon, etc...Iowa wants to go off a cliff by electing these idiots they can do that but I'm not holding this state's hands on the way down.

We are also in the process of looking at options.

One of our kids live in a TC suburb. I think it is gorgeous, but they do get a lot of snow and cold.
I love the cold and am retired so I wouldn't have to deal with the snow too much.

Plus Minnesota is closer to Canada if one needed to sneak in.

BTW - they have a Republican problem also - does Tim Pawlenty ring a bell? But around the cities it is very nice.
