Nancy Pelosi to headline Polk County Democrats dinner in Des Moines

House Democratic leader Nancy Pelosi will headline the spring dinner of the Polk County Democrats in May, the organization said Monday.

Pelosi will be joined at the dinner on the night of May 6 with an Iowa House update from Assistant Minority Leader Brian Meyer and an update on organized labor from Iowa State Education Association President Tammy Wawro, the political group said.

Tickets cost $75 for individuals and $1,500 for a table of 10 people for the dinner at the Forte Banquet and Conference Center and can be purchased online now, at bit.ly/2pr7DSX.

In its announcement, Polk County Democrats touted a handful of Pelosi's political achievements that included her role in securing passage for the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act in 2009 and the Affordable Care Act in 2010.
