Reports of the Democratic Party's death are highly exaggerated.
I can honestly report that Democratic politics at the local level in my precinct are healthier than they ever have been. Last week Democrats from 5 Rural Iowa counties held a joint forum to introduce Primary candidates running for Governor and the 3rd District in Congress here in the heart of Redneck Iowa. Turnout was great and enthusiasm was high. IMHO, Donna Brazile's comments sound nutty at worst and self-serving at best. Carry on and Get Out and VOTE!

(6,288 posts)Driving Dems off message boards doesn't mean we won't vote.
We can stand silent if it means the rest think they're winning.
No problem. Dems have been doing battle against those backdoor propagandists since the Party began.
I proudly stand with the Democratic Party.
Their platform is forever anchored in human rights & equal rights.
Just because Dems aren't the loud mouths with a mic on a talk show circuit, doesn't mean we disappeared.
We've always been here.

(12,904 posts)The "democrat party death knell" stories started right after I saw a bunch of articles about how democrats are enjoying record numbers of newly entered democrat candidates for office, and strong fundraising numbers, to boot.
Is there any chance we could get even ONE friggin' Republican candidate to run on their own merit, as opposed to how much trash they can get spread against their opponent before Election Day?
I know, I know.

On the bright side, there are 5 great Iowans running for Governor and 9 running to unseat David Young in the 3rd Congressional District. I am having a really hard time choosing among so many highly qualified, hard working, people first candidates. BUT, in the end, I will vote for the Democrat who wins. Any one of them will do a better job than the Republican status quo.
