There’s very few things more annoying for a Republican elected official than having to answer to a citizen. Even more annoying than that is when they are confronted about a wealthcare bill that will throw millions of people’s lives into jeopardy in order to give their wealthiest friends more money. Thursday, after the clandestinely assembled Senate Republican version of Trumpcare was released, activists went to Reagan National Airport in Washington, D.C. to give senators a piece of their mind. One of the senior Republican members of the Senate is Chuck Grassley (R-IA). In the video below you can see Center for American Progress Vice President Topher Spiro come up to Sen. Grassley. Sen. Grassley gets squirrelly right away—he did just release a death sentence into the public discourse. Spiro says he “just wanted to say hi,” at which point Sen. Grassley attempts to be political nice guy, putting his hand on Spiro’s shoulder in an avuncular fashion. Uncle Grassley quickly turns into magical disappearing Sen. Grassley the moment Spiro explains that he has done a lot of work on health care. Sen. Grassley gets on his horse pretty quickly and tries to pretend he’s in his happy place while followed. Fuck Senator Chuck Grassley and his tired old corrupt horse of a political party.
