Branstad To Iowans: Be Afraid Of Refugees

A sad day for Iowa. Yesterday, Gov. Branstad ordered all state agencies to halt any work on Syrian refugee resettlements immediately, “in order to ensure the security and safety of Iowans” in light of the Paris attacks.

Let’s look at this in a broader context. More than 32,000 people per year are killed by guns in the United States. Yet we’re supposed to be afraid of a bunch of refugees because of a terrorist attack in France that while a tragedy, as all violence is, resulted in about the same number of deaths that occur by guns in the U.S. approximately every two days.

I live in the state of Iowa. I am ashamed and embarrassed that Brandstad is our governor. But it is not surprising that he reacts this way. Please don't judge all Iowans by the actions of Terry Brandstad.

He steals taxpayer dollars and gives it to his buddies right in front of our faces, he ignores laws he doesn't like and creates new laws where none exists, he treats the democrats in the legislature as if they are little more than ignorant peons. And Iowa keeps electing him.

There used to be a meme in this state when I grew up that Iowa had the best education system in the country. Electing Branstad proves that you can bring a child to knowledge, but you can't make them think.

Oh and thanks to Branny, Iowa's #1 rating in education is long gone just like our clean air that stinks of CAFO manure.
