Libertarian gubernatorial candidate recovering after stroke

INDIANAPOLIS — Rex Bell, the Libertarian candidate for Indiana governor, is recovering at an Indianapolis hospital after suffering what his campaign described as “a minor stroke” during an event Wednesday night in Richmond, Ind.

Campaign officials said in a statement posted Thursday to Bell’s Facebook page: “Mr. Bell is receiving excellent care, even spending the morning joking with doctors and nurses.”

“He is fully aware and coherent, communicating as normal. He is expected (to make) a full recovery and to be released soon.”

Bell’s family said it has been touched by an outpouring of support and thanked Hoosiers for their thoughts, prayers and kind words urging Bell on to a speedy recovery.
