Talk to the principal, talk to the superintendant, talk to the guidance counselors, -
DEMAND that your high school follow the law and provide opt out forms and instructions to every parent at the beginning of the year. Remind them that there are parents who do not want the military recruiting or even talking to their kids at school. Remind them that the ASVAB test is a recruiting tool and that they need parents' permission to administer it. Read them the law, because I can tell you from personal experience, they have no clue what it says; they truly believe that they have to give the military unquestioned and unlimited access to the schools, which is not true. Remind them that they must give equal access to groups with opposing views if they allow recruiters in. Have members of peace groups like Veterans for Peace and Iraq Veterans Against the War ready and willing to go into the schools with you. I did it and had things changed at two NW Indiana schools and my friends have done it at other schools. If we can do it, you can, too.
