Looks like Greg Ballard may have some competition for his job.

And to that, I say GOOD.

And in another encouraging development, which happened last week I guess, Ed DeLaney has filed papers to run for mayor. While I don't know how well this will work with his seat in the General Assembly (where he is one of the few voices of common sense), but if he can pull double-duty, I think he would be an excellent choice as well.

I don't know what the answer to the violence in Indy is, but I do know it won't be solved by bike lanes and cricket fields. In my time here, Ballard has never impressed me with his leadership skills, other than the ceremonial.

but I would think Hogsett has greater name recognition and will run as a crime fighter. From the WISH TV piece, all the major state Dems seem to be supporting him already. And I seem to recall reading somewhere that Evan Bayh may have leftover campaign money he can give him.
