Champaign County has enough election judges for April election

URBANA, Ill. (WAND) — After calls for more election judges, Champaign County has enough for the April 1st election.

Saturday, Champaign County Clerk Aaron Ammons said several people stepped up and will serve as judges.

All Champaign County polling locations will be open. This comes after there were some concerns that with the lack of election judges, some sites would have to consolidate.

“Bare bones at least 14. I would like to see at least another 28 to 30 people to sign up to make sure that we have a cushion,” Champaign County Clerk Aaron Ammons told WAND News. “It wouldn’t be ideal to only have Republican judges there, or only Democratic judges at any location. But if that’s what I have to do in order to keep from closing polls that’s what I’m willing to do.”
