(15,102 posts)His wife is invested in Hard Rock. Hard Rock wants to open a casino. Nielson gave a press conference in the State House press room, urging a yes vote for the casino. Talked to senators about voting yes for the casino. The guitar picks had "Its time for a casino in Rockford" stamped on them. IOW he acted as a lobbyist on the Senate floor, where they are banned.

(706 posts)But Nielsen is community minded. Frankly I am disgusted that he and <spit> Syverson are partners in the Stockholm Inn. But Nielsen has quietly supported/invested in Rockford. Rockford is slowly but surely extinguishing their problem politicians/investors (can't want for the day Puri is sent to the trash heap). Now if only the county could clean house..
