Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot to co-host Cook County Democratic Party fundraiser with board President

Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot to co-host Cook County Democratic Party fundraiser with board President Toni Preckwinkle

Mayor Lori Lightfoot will co-host the Cook County Democratic Party’s fall fundraiser alongside Toni Preckwinkle in a move that could help the powerful rivals build a better relationship.

The party’s fundraiser will be held Nov. 5 at the Hilton on Michigan Avenue. Ticket prices range from $200 for an individual ticket to $25,000 to be a corporate sponsor, according to a copy of the invitation obtained by the Tribune.

“The Cook County Democratic Party, chair Toni Preckwinkle, with honorary co-chair Mayor Lori E. Lightfoot, cordially invite you to a cocktail reception” honoring Gov. J.B. Pritzker, Teamsters Joint Council 25 President Terrence Hancock, and Lawrence Benito, chief executive officer of the Illinois Coalition for Immigrant and Refugee Rights, the invitation said.

Lightfoot defeated Preckwinkle in a landslide during April’s historic mayoral runoff election, winning all of the city’s wards and more than 70 percent of the vote.
