Want counsel from Capone? Read new book

It's a little odd to think wisdom can be gained from the words from, perhaps, the most infamous gangster.

But that's the premise of "The Wisdom of Al Capone," a new book which also happens to feature Edwin's Roadhouse in Peotone.

Once known as Miami Gardens and believed to be Capone's getaway from the city during the roaring '20s, the roadhouse currently is the only place to purchase the book, although it'll be available at other gangster museums across the country, as well as at thewisdomofalcapone.com.

"Wisdom" is filled with the words and writings of the disreputable Chicagoan, on everything from crime and violence to politicians and corruption. The quotations are accompanied by commentary, fun facts and rare crime photos from William Helmer, who has authored numerous books on Prohibition era gangsters.
