Hope everyone's ok

The last two nights have been wild!
No real property damage for us. We have had a crap load of rain here in Lake county. Our recycle bin's lid was left open last night and my husband said there was at least 6 inches of water in the bottom. Lost power some time in the wee hours this morning. We had water come into the garage and in the basement entry. Lots of towels and fans, and of course the kitties are unhappy having wet paws stuck with kitty litter. :/

...I'm in Kane county so we just got a great light show...the torrential rain doesn't appear to have created too many problems for folks in my area either...

we had a deep soaking rain with only a small light show and wind. Lots of wind, but none were damaging around here.

i am in the bowl of the lake, and i have seen even more than usual number of storms that hit that cold air mass, and bounce right off it.

we did get some rain, but not more than a couple inches.
i need a new rain gauge

Robbins, Crestwood, Blue Island - totally black. And I just saw photos of my old stomping grounds, my old home sitting in several feet of water on the north side.

What a lighting show. What a dark and stormy night.

far more than my childhood several decades ago.

It also seems as though Deep Tunnel is a failure. Too small, too easily overwhelmed, and not designed for today's storms.

from the orient. When her clients did the math, they realized that a storm greater than 1.5 inches per hour would fill it, greater than 2 inches per hour would overwhelm it. The response from the Deep Tunnelers was "We don't foresee rains as heavy as 2 inches per hour. That's ridiculous!"

We were spared any damaging winds, but several rural roads (mine included) were closed due to flooding.
