Software issue blamed for delays on Hawaiian Airlines' interisland flights

HONOLULU, Hawaii (HawaiiNewsNow) - A software issue is impacting some of Hawaiian Airlines’ 717 fleet — the aircraft used for interisland service — causing delays.

Passengers say problem started Saturday afternoon.

Some reported waiting on the plane at the gate for a long time before getting off and still not having an updated flight time. Some passengers were understanding.

“If it was a system issue we couldn’t do anything about it. Just wait, just have to wait and see what happens,” said passenger Danny Haughton.

“Most of them (the passengers) were resigned to the fact that they were going to be four hours late. They started picking up food, sitting on the floor and waiting for their late flight,” passenger Panos Prevedouros said.
