Mo Ivory ousts Rob Pitts in Democratic Fulton commission chair runoff election

ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) — Mo Ivory won the Democratic nomination for the Fulton County Board of Commissioners chair during Tuesday’s runoff election, according to unofficial results from Fulton County’s website.

Ivory, who was on the board for a year before resigning to run for chair, unseated incumbent Robb Pitts, who previously sat on the board for 12 years before becoming its chairman in 2017.

During last month’s primaries, Ivory finished first with 39.8% of the vote, while Pitts finished second with 34.8%.

Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens endorsed Ivory, while Pitts was endorsed by Marvin Arrington Jr., a current Fulton County commissioner who came third in the primaries.
