Sen. Warnock was his usual cordial and unflappable self, which frustrated some who posted messages in the chat. He made several good points, though, in particular stating his unequivocal support for the CDC and Federal workers throughout Georgia, as well as Social Security recipients, USAID programs, and veterans. And he did not shy away from expressing dismay and disapproval of policies that benefit autocrats and oligarchs (yes, he used those terms).
I know some would like him to be more of a firebrand, but one of Sen. Warnock’s strengths is his calm demeanor combined with a steely resolve to help his constituents, working with Republicans to do so when it makes sense. He even quoted Kendrick Lamar when talking about the officials whose only goal is to help the already wealthy: “They not like us.”
