I tried Hello Fresh twice and, while I was impressed, I found the primary selling point of it being fast and easy to be only partly true.

The quality of the meals was pretty incredible. Not every one of them was a hit, but they were all good.

But didn’t save any time and you had to do the sous cheffing just like any meal.

Those boxes keep showing up and you’re committed whether you want that meal or not.

The freshness of the veggies was sometimes not there. But other than that I can’t fault Hello Fresh.

In the end, I just couldn’t make their business model fit our life.

The meals were good, but time consuming to make. I think they market their services more to people who want the entire cooking experience without having to plan the meal or shop for ingredients. I just wanted a good fresh meal I could come home and pop in the oven. I eventually opted for another meal service (Home Chef) that offers good meals that are much easier and quicker to prepare.

My grocery bill isn't that much higher than it was 10 years ago, but I do most of my cooking and plan out my meals. I'll gladly support Union jobs. Cheers
