How to avoid paying Georgia state taxes
In an email from Better Georgia:
Your state taxes are due today -- Tuesday, April 15.
But we know that Gov. Deal [1]doesn't make everyone pay state taxes in a
timely manner.
The company that bought his failing salvage business and currently rents
land from the governor owes the state $74 million in back taxes and
penalties.
That pending tax debt has been unpaid for three years. And Gov. Deal said
it's not his responsibility to collect the debt.
Call Gov. Deal's office today and ask for the same three-year grace period
he's given to the out-of-state auto salvage company that pays him $20,000
per month in rent.
Or better yet, tell Gov. Deal that Georgia could use the $74 million in
back taxes to pay for teacher raises.
It's time to stop collecting rent and to start collecting the debt.
Call Gov. Nathan Deal: (404) 656-1776
We all know that Gov. Deal works harder for his business than for us. But
even Gov. Deal should be ashamed of this one.
Sincerely,
