UGA Fraternity Suspends Operations After Racist Texts Revealed

University of Georgia fraternity has suspended its operations after members made racist and misogynistic remarks about a fellow student in a GroupMe chat that became public.
The target of the remarks was Arianna Mbunwe, a student who’s garnered a large following on social media by posting photos and videos of students disobeying COVID-19 health guidelines, like crowding into bars without masks, drawing the ire of Greek organization members.
Mbunwe posted screenshots of the chat to her Twitter account on Saturday.

UGA’s Lambda Chi Alpha chapter was established in 1915. Prominent alumni include Gov. Brian Kemp, former congressman turned pro-Trump pundit Jack Kingston and Charles Kelly of Lady A, the country band formerly known as Lady Antebellum.
