This isn't the first time Rudman has filed a bill that directly impacts his own interests
Wednesday afternoon, Panhandle Rep. Joel Rudman, R-Navarre, filed HB 15, which he calls the "The Right to Rock Act, for the upcoming 2024 legislative session.
Under the proposal, any entertainment venue that accepts state funding would be banned from breaking a contract with a performer due to their social-media use or political affiliations.
The proposal applies to musicians, comedians, dancers and actors.

(6,349 posts)I love that they made sure to point out that this band does covers. I am hoping that ASCAP or BMI pays his performance a little visit because seldom do the venues or the bands pay for every little cover that they do. ASCAP and BMI are worse than hungry tigers when they decide they want to go after someone, so they should probably check this dude's band out.

(16,571 posts)there's a lot of cover bands out there. His band might have been overlooked. Perhaps a call to BMIs legal department would help.:shrug

(3,010 posts)This guy gets around. I can't wait to hear his new hit single, "Johnny Be Mediocre". I can see in one of the photos he knows how to play an E chord so at least he has that going for him.
