money for many, many signs, some so big and obnoxious, while Dems signage just wasn't there (at least in Sarasota). Theory--developer donor money make this sign saturation possible. Meanwhile, less well financed Dem candidates can't gain the same name recognition here.

(24,174 posts)I live in Jax, FL and in my neighborhood there are usually a ton of R signs - not this time. I don't know how my county voted yet, havent gotten to researching local stuff at this point. I can tell you the tv channels had nothing but R messaging for the last month and it was horrendous. Also think Demings should have gone all in on Medicare and SS. She had excellent anti-abortion ads, but she needed to hit them on both fronts and didn't. An opportunity was missed.

(9,103 posts)...the GOP has lots of $s. Honestly, there was little energy for Crist. I know him (he lives nearby), and I like him ok as a representative. He's not dynamic enough to win Florida.
States like Texas and Florida are brainwashed, gerrymandered, suppressed, and manipulated. With so many one-issue voters (taxes and racism and guns), it's hard for anyone to breakthrough on ideas.
Shout out to Val Demmings who really gave it a good try.
