(10,599 posts)Quit saying things like that.
He is immensely popular in FL, and elsewhere in the country. If Drumpf doesn't run, he's the sure fire nominee of the repub party. If Drumpf does run, he's the most likely to be named Vice President.
He's as "toast" as Drumpf was at this time in 2016. The Floriduh voters will re-elect him as their Governor, and then he will either win the party's nomination, or Drumpf will pick him as a running mate when he wins it.
You give the voters of this country, or more specifically Florida, FAR too much credit when you pre-suppose that they will blame him for any of these deaths. Once again, we're talking about Floriduh, and they will vote for the repub, just like the people in TX will vote for Abbott once again.

(875 posts)literally hundreds of relatives in Florida, mainly Seminole, Mikosukee & African Americans of various admixtures. Trust me, HE'S DESPISED, LOATHED & hated and the ONLY reason he's in office is due to the same shenanigans that put that orange asshole in the oval office. As for Texas, where my my mom's family is from, (she was born in Rice TX Navarro Co.) and I have even more relatives there, not counting the relatives that I was gifted with when I married my Bohemian Czech hubs, there's a reason that TX is gerrymandered TF up and even more of a reason that these same states are controlled by people who are doing their level best to take the right to vote away from people like me. IF the people in those states were so enamored of these walking POS, they would not be going out of their way to gerrymander it, suppress the rights of other Americans etc ad nauseam.
Texas is NOT republican, it's a gerrymandered disaster, which is the same situation as it is in alot of these "conservative" states. My husband's family emigrated to America around 1900 from eastern Europe and even today, with the exception of a few idiots, (and I DO mean FEW idiots, every family has them), if you were to call them pubs or even start talking positively about anything republican, you'd be realistically facing serious physical harm, trust me. Using the color code that some moron instituted to talk about how lberal or conservative a state, municipality, county etc is, Texas is at at purple, heading up on violet. That's what is pushing them to suppress actually democratic rights, (you know as in voting, freedon of speech etc) from the Texans and Floridians who righteously HATE THEM.

(17,642 posts)He barely squeaked out a win, less than 0.5%. Charlie Christ will easily beat him. Nikki Fried is also a great candidate but Im not sure Florida will go for a female governor. More students are in schools with mask mandates than without in open defiance of his bs anti-mask mandate.

(10,599 posts)And if he were the nominee running against Biden, he would probably win Florida.
brush
(57,495 posts)He doesn't seem so popular to them. He's following trump's disastrous covid playbook and it's showing in Florida's spiking covid infections and deaths.
You do know that's what caused trump to lose, right?
