It seems the vaccine is finally getting into Floridian's arms.

What is your situation? Please post your county and any comments below the poll.

4. Still waiting for an appointment

We signed up on the Polk County website January 17th and I understand we are now pending. Their site says they are scheduling appointments for February 21st. We did get a phone call several days ago with an offer to each get one, but it was about an hour drive each way. We were probably lucky we didn't opt for that since it turned out to be the week they didn't get vaccines in because of the weather up north. No idea if they called and notified people of the cancellations.

Since we live in the largest city in our County, we originally chose a closer appointment versus a sooner appointment. Maybe there is a problem with the distribution once it's gotten? There have been several instances of preference to large groups who aren't even on the list.

We're 70 and I signed up at that stupid Eventbrite app on December 30th. Actually got called to come in about a week earlier than the appointment I made. The locale was Brevard DOH in Viera, and organized beautifully!

I'm confused by the governor's most recent actions. He figures the seniors have been pretty much taken care of and has now opened it up for teachers, firefighters, and policemen who are 50 and over and also those with pre-existing conditions. He sees no backlog?

10. I feel so blessed

I specifically came here to change my vote on this thread. I was starting to get stressed considering that tomorrow the next huge groups will be wanting to sign up. As usual, I spent some time looking around online this morning and my appointment will be Thursday and my husband's appointment will be Friday at a CVS that is about three miles away from here. I couldn't find a spot to book us both together, but since it's right here and one day apart, I still feel extremely blessed. I don't think I expanded on my last post explaining that pending on the County's website just meant it was forwarded to one of the sites who gives vaccinations and our friend had given us a phone number to call and that vaccination site hadn't received any vaccines for four or five weeks already. So if we had been sent to one of the sites that isn't even getting a cut of the vaccine, it could have been a long wait yet.

That was an interesting article even though I just scanned through it. I really don't understand how the governor feels that the seniors have all been taken care of or scheduled. It's possible that some are just becoming disenchanted and not searching as hard as they once did.

Did your wife turn out okay with the vaccine yesterday?

Finally. My wife and I have already put in more than 20 hours "standing in line" at our computers over several weeks. The appointment opportunity popped up on my Kindle Fire. I wanted to do my wife's appointment first but she told me to do my own. By the time I finished mine, there was still a link available to book another appointment, but all the pharmacy slots were fully committed. We will be back on the Publix site Friday AM.
