Florida Launches Statewide Preregistration System for Covid Vaccine Appointments

Florida has launched a statewide preregistration system to help seniors, nursing home residents & staff, frontline health workers and vulnerable individuals schedule COVID-19 vaccination appointments.

The system allows people to pre-register to receive the vaccine and be notified when appointments are available at state-supported vaccination sites.

On the site, residents can select their county and submit their contact information. Once appointments are available, individuals will be contacted by phone call, text or email and will be assisted in scheduling an appointment.

If you do not meet the criteria listed above, you can still sign up now to receive email updates to learn when you will be eligible to receive the vaccine.

I did it on the web (you could also call an 800 number). The signup process started with clicking a button that said Get in Line. I'm hoping I'm sorta early.

And I hope it works better than other systems in the state like the unemployment system. Unfortunately, my County opted out but we are registered on the County website, but they don't appear to be going in order.

Apparently they are having an issue with the section that allows those with severe pre-existing conditions for under 65 being allowed to register. Someone on the local news who tried to sign up and is 62 years old was not able to proceed after he put his age in.

2 days after we signed up, I learned there was a total of 25000 on the list in my County. Now I believe there were over 70,000 and they have also taken several vaccinations that will be used for those under 65 who have pre-existing conditions. If we only keep getting about 6000 per week and they keep adding more people or going 2 mobile home parks to vaccinate everyone, we probably won't hear anything within the five weeks I was estimating. If you signed up online, you are supposed to be able to log back on and see where you are at in the line.
