Pinellas County said it was opening to sign up for vaccine at 10 a.m.

Last edited Sun Jan 24, 2021, 01:29 PM - Edit history (1)

At 10:03 the system says it is "down."

Now even the portal doesn't open. FUBAR.

Now this-

Unable to Process Request
Concurrent requests limit exceeded.

To protect all customers from excessive usage and Denial of Service attacks, we limit the number of long-running requests that are processed at the same time by an organization. Your request has been denied because this limit has been exceeded by your organization. Please try your request again later.

I called the number they gave for people without Internet access at 10:30, waded through the menu and a recording said "all available appointments have been scheduled." I find it really hard to believe that 8,000 people got through on that broken system and made appointments in half an hour. I suspect preferential treatment had taken up most of the appointments before they were offered to us peasants.

He thinks more Dems than repugs want this so is deliberately fucking this up and letting the mayors fuck it up even worse.

People I know got appointments in red counties to the north of here and are driving an hour or more to get to them. I am afraid the redneck locals will get testy about that and there are too many guns around.

I asked the one of my friends who was able to get the shot and she said a relative was able to get it for her. Now, she's 68 so does fit the age profile, but no one else can get them due to Death Sentence's continuous changing of the guidelines and because of favoritism.

They were receiving 100 phone calls per second when they first opened the hotline and we were finally able to secure a spot on the list after about two weeks of trying. That was only because they had just set up the website and opened the phone lines for 6 hours on Saturdays and Sundays.

It appears they feel that entire mobile home parks deserve the vaccinations first. It started with vaccinations at the Hamptons in Auburndale and the reason was supposedly because they had the vaccines and needed to get them into arms. I'm waiting to see what the excuse is since they just vaccinated Beacon Hill Colony Mobile Home Park in Lakeland. Chatter has it that management asked them to come in and vaccinate. Mahsa Saiedi was running a story on it on her investigative reports.

Pinellas County makes folks have separate appointments. If we ever get appointments, my wife and I will have to each make two trips, like gas was free and our time has no value. It makes sense to bring vaccine to people rather than people to the vaccine, but it has to be done in some equitable way that is devoid of politics.

They don't even allow a couple to make an appointment at the same time. We are allowed to sign ourselves and one other person up so I was able to sign us both up with one phone call, although I had probably tried a hundred times before that.

It still doesn't explain how hundreds can be signed up at one time in one spot. By the way, you live in my favorite County.

Never regretted it, except briefly during some hurricanes.

Your county has one of my least favorite Sheriffs.

I understand completely. He is a very controversial person and sometimes I do like him, other times not so much. We do live in the more Progressive part of the county, but it does need some improvement.
