PM Update: Scattered showers this evening, and much cooler Sunday

A complex series of frontal systems has been hovering around the region today. All that means for us is that we’ve been stuck with cloudy skies and some intermittent showers. More showers are likely this evening as another frontal system sweeps through. Behind that front temperatures will be much cooler on Sunday, along with some gusty winds from the north.

Through tonight: Spotty showers will continue through the evening. Some more widespread showers could develop close to midnight, but most of us should stay dry. Temperatures will remain mild until winds switch to the northwest after midnight. Lows will end up in the mid-40s with gusty northwest winds at 25-plus mph.

Tomorrow (Sunday): Scattered showers could linger through 10 a.m. or so. We should eventually see some partial sunshine by the afternoon, but it will be much cooler. Highs will top out in the mid- to upper 40s and winds gusting 20 to 30 mph from the north will keep a chill in the air. It’ll be clear and cold Sunday night, with lows in the mid-20s.
