On this date in 1964, for the first time in nearly a century, DC residents...voted.
Here we see 97-year-old John Harry, a lifelong Washingtonian, vote for the first time in his life. He hadn't skipped voting in past elections. There WERE NO PAST ELECTIONS in his adult lifetime.
