Winter Solstice to me is that it means the longer day count can begin. I don't like the shorter days and look forward to each longer one. I check the clock when it gets dark to note each incremental move to longer daylight hours as it occurs.

By the time of the summer solstice and daylight savings time, I am ecstatic.
