Delaware's new economic development agency searches for an identity

A new state agency wants to assist budding entrepreneurs looking to launch new companies in Delaware while helping existing small businesses stay afloat.

But exactly how it will accomplish that mission remains unclear.

"The goal is to have recommendations laid out as to what we want to do by the end of the year," said Cerron Cade, director of the Division of Small Business, Development and Tourism.

Created by Gov. John Carney and the General Assembly last summer, the new division is one of two organizations forged from the ashes of the former Delaware Economic Development Office.
