DUI charges for Dover councilman, policy director for Lt. Gov.

Tanner Polce, a Dover city councilman and policy director for Lt. Gov. Bethany Hall-Long, was charged with driving under the influence and other traffic offenses this weekend, according to state police.

Polce, 26, was driving a 2016 Toyota Camry about 5:45 p.m. Sunday westbound on Chesapeake City Road approaching the intersection of Del. 71 (Red Lion Road), said Master Cpl. Jeffrey Hale, a spokesman for Delaware State Police.

Polce did not stop at a posted stop sign and entered the intersection, where he was hit by a 2003 Honda Accord traveling north on Del. 71, Hale said.

The 55-year-old New Castle man driving the Accord, as well as his 47-year-old passenger, were taken to Christiana Hospital by ambulance where they were treated for non-life-threatening injuries, Hale said.
