Avon Neighbors Show Support For Muslim Community, West Hartford And UConn Rallies Planned
Early Wednesday morning, a small group of neighbors tracked across the freshly fallen snow on the front lawn of Avon's Farmington Valley American Muslim Center.
Carrying flowers, red foil heart-shaped balloons and signs proclaiming phrases such as "United We Stand," and "We Love Our Muslim Friends," they made their way to the sign and hedges bordering the front of the property along Harris Road.
There, they arrange their banners and bouquets as a tangible sign of support and solidarity to those arriving to worship at the center.
"I just hope the people who are members here feel supported and loved and like they belong here, that they have a lot of support from the community," said Beth Kintner, of Farmington.
