Lt. Governor Susan Bysiewicz quarantining after staff member tests positive for COVID-19
Lt. Governor Susan Bysiewicz is self-quarantining after a member of her staff tested positive for COVID-19, her office announced late Friday night.
The staff member, who was not identified publicly, was tested on Thursday and received the positive result Friday evening, prompting Bysiewicz and other staff members to self-quarantine while they conduct contact tracing, said Adam Joseph, Bysiewiczs chief of staff.
The person is the first positive case in the lieutenant governors office after several staff members of Gov. Ned Lamont, including his spokesman Max Reiss, have tested positive over the past two months.
Since the start of the pandemic, we have taken steps to limit the number of staff working in the office and have encouraged staff members to telework, Joseph said in a statement. But this is another reminder that we all must continue to take precautions to defeat the spread of COVID-19.
