Water main breaks keep crews busy

HARTFORD, CT (WFSB) -

Water main breaks in the Hartford metro area kept repair crews busy Monday morning.

The Metropolitan District Commission reported one in West Hartford on South Highland Street near the intersection with Farmington Avenue.

It said the 8-inch main was installed in 1927. The main was shut down around 6:50 a.m.

WFSB didn't report on it, but we had a water main failure here in Montville as well. I went to take a shower this morning and had zero water pressure. Not my idea of a fun morning... I ended up scooping up snow and boiling it so I could take a "washcloth" bath.
