Denver area USPS

So I'd signed up many months ago for "Informed Delivery". I get email with pictures of incoming mail and can decide if it's worth the time to drive to the post office (I've got a PO Box).

For several weeks now, the daily email just says I have incoming mail. Never any pictures. This failure used to happen maybe once a month, but now it's 100% of the time.

I finally noticed, in the tiny print at the end of the email:

*Not all mail is imaged and sorted on USPS® automated equipment. Therefore, some of your mail may not be shown here.

No kidding. Thanks DeJoy. I'm looking forward to your forthcoming indictment.

At least the county I'm in has ballot tracking, so I can tell when my ballot has been mailed to me. And lots of drop-off boxes to avoid the postal service for the return!

We live in Lakewood, CO. The service has deteriorated but not significantly, so far. Oversized items never showed up. But it's obvious that we're not getting what we should every day as we have in the past. Thankfully, the notification about packages that will be delivered is still showing up.

While I do think that Putin owns Trump, Mitch and Lindsey Graham ... I suspect DeJoy is just a garden variety traitor who's out to make a profit at the expense of the country.

Less than half my relevant mail is scanned and sometimes junk mail is scanned but bills and other notices aren't. I got two packages yesterday and neither were listed in my emails this week. ???

Yeah, the email would often not include all the 1st class letters that were heading my way. But (for me) it was still good enough to be useful.

And, for me, electronic package tracking/notifications have gotten a little weird (unexplained delays), but appear to mostly be working.

who's doing something wrong.

Curious thing-- I recently ordered eyeglasses from Zenni, in China, and their tracking told me when they dropped them off at the PO at the port of entry. So, I tried to track them with the PO and got zilch. Then I got a notice from Zenni that they were delivered to my PO Box. Is this evidence that China is eating more of our lunch?

USPS has always had a few problems here and there, as expected with something so huge, but now it looks like its destruction might be assured.

MAGA my ass-- just keep your orange hands off things.

First, that fine print has always been there.

I have noticed that it usually includes oversized items like grocery ads, or most non-standard sized mail like advertising postcards or catalogs and even magazines.

FWIW, thus far I have not noticed any significant delays in mail delivery here.

pretty much lacking. It may have gotten worse, as they sometimes don't come through until late in the day and sometimes I don't get one at all, but I'm not totally sure that is correlated with DeJoy's actions. It may be, though.

An awful lot of mail has never been scanned, while junk mail quite often is. For that reason, it is not all that helpful. When packages are included with tracking numbers, I find that useful.

They usually don't bother scanning bulk mail. But I made the (unsupported) conclusion that the automated machines that image everything was done for national security reasons. E.g. they like having pix of the outside of everything to help in tracking down mail bombs.

The tiny local post office here used to deliver "local" mail without it leaving the post office. But that changed a few years ago ... everything had to be routed down the mountain for processing. That never made any sense unless the goal was to image (or sniff) everything. The "informed delivery" was a low-cost addition to the system they'd already built.

I don't *think* I'm being a total conspiracy nut yet. But give me a few more months and I'll get there.
