CU Boulder receives $5M donation from Suzanne and Dave Hoover
CU Boulder announced Thursday that supporters Suzanne and Dave Hoover are donating $5 million to the university.
Of the $5 million, $2.5 million will go to the School of Education, which in early 2020 will move to the Fleming Building. The gift will help in creating state-of-the-art learning labs and dynamic collaborative spaces, according to a news release. The School of Education has been in its current home, the Education Building, since the early 1950s.
The Hoovers also are supporting interdisciplinary offerings through the Center for Western Civilization, Thought and Policy, the College of Music and CU Athletics with the remaining $2.5 million of their gift, according to the release.
The Hoover familys generous gift allows us to create collaborative and welcoming spaces within our new building that will bring together faculty, staff, students and members of our surrounding educational community, Dean of the School of Education Kathy Schultz stated in the release. It will enable us to better work together to transform the educational opportunities for children now and in the future.
