University of Colorado votes to keep tuition flat for coming year as condition of state funding

The University of Colorado system Board of Regents on Friday voted to keep resident undergraduate tuition and student fees flat for the upcoming academic year.

The state budget is expected to provide a 13% increase for higher education, which is tied to keeping tuition flat. This is the first time in at least a decade that the CU system has not increased tuition.

"I appreciate very much that the state has brought in more funding," said Board of Regents Chair Sue Sharkey, R-District 4.

Tuition for nonresident undergraduate students and graduate students is increasing slightly at many campuses, including a 3% increase at the University of Colorado Boulder.
