Colorados Bob Beauprez mentioned as possible Trump pick for Interior secretary
A former Colorado congressman is being mentioned as a possible Interior secretary pick in Donald Trump’s administration.
Bob Beauprez, a bison rancher and a two-time losing candidate for governor, is one of a half-dozen Republicans eyeing the job that oversees Indian affairs and vast federal lands, including the national parks.
Beauprez confirmed in an interview Tuesday that he is being considered for the job.“I’d love to do it if given the opportunity,” he said.
The farmer and rancher said he would bring to the job “sense of bonding with the land and stewardship of God’s creation — I take that very, very seriously.”
