Related: About this forumWondering where DUers are with Steyer vs Becerra?
I'm leaning towards Becerra, but I am seeing places like 'Courage Campaign' endorse Steyer.
Here is an article that discusses both, (but I sense whoever wrote it is for Steyer with all the comments on the Progressive Left finds fault with Becerra.)

I'm curious to see how California DUers feel/think about this.

(4,679 posts)Ever since Ross Perot we've been having to stave off trying to treat nations as businesses.
The US is now fully oligarch controlled and being operated as a business. California must resist that, however I'm quite certain that Becerra has a MUCH better chance of achieving it with Steyer as an advisor, than the other way around.

Steyer has a decent platform, but I trust billionaires as far as I can spit in a 70 mph headwind.
Money means more to them than people.
For example, the (formerly as of last month) liberal and outspoken Mark Cuban, whom I included as a potential Democratic Candidate for president, has crawled completely up Trump's ass with the Rx scam. A complete reversal.
You don't get that much money by caring about people. You get it by caring about money.

One of my favorite reminders:

Undefeated in thousands of years of human exploitation of other humans.
A recent article made Becerra look like a Chevron board member.
I've been through politics for ages, starting in Boston. Money is talking.
Newsom is far more business-friendly.

(1,391 posts)I do not want to see Hilton in the general election, even though I think Becerra or Steyer would be him, so I want it to come down between Becerra and Steyer. Although I'm leaning to Becerra, I'll probably vote for Steyer since he's currently in third place in the polls. By voting for Steyer, I'm helping to make the general election for governor is between two Democrats.

I generally don't trust private sector billionaires that think they can fix government through radical changes.
Steyer's public positions are very progressive. I would not be displeased if he won.

(1,391 posts)Becerra has the government experience needed be governor.
Steyer has corporate experience which works well in running a corporation but not a government.

(1,284 posts)for strategic reasons. I just want a strong general election Dem candidate that has the better chance of winning. I think Becerra is the traditional candidate and that might not fire up enthusiasm. Steyer, just from the fact that he is not a politician, might appeal to the apathy crowd, something new. Also I think CA wants change, and independents might go for that with Steyer.
