Strikingly expensive San Francisco mayoral race is getting even pricier
Wealthy donors have injected millions of dollars nto the San Francisco mayoral race in recent weeks, making an already strikingly expensive campaign even more so.
As Daniel Lurie has touted a rise in the polls, his supporters have infused his candidacy with major financial contributions.
An independent expenditure committee supporting the Levi Strauss heir and Tipping Point founder’s bid for mayor has received a handful of individual contributions from deep-pocketed supporters — totaling more than $250,000 — since recent polling illuminated his good standing heading into the final stages of the campaign, according to The Examiner’s analysis of campaign-finance disclosures.
The group, called Believe in SF, Lurie for Mayor 2024, represents the growing war chest of just one candidate’s independent expenditure committee in the late stage of the mayoral race.
