San Francisco Proposition O
Supporting Reproductive Rights
Prop. O aims to safeguard abortion protections and reproductive rights in San Francisco by enshrining them in city policy. The measure would also establish the Reproductive Freedom Fund for grants and funding to be added for reproductive services; require the San Francisco Department of Public Health to list online all facilities in The City offering abortions or emergency contraception; increase transparency around limited services pregnancy centers, or facilities that dont provide comprehensive services; prohibit health officials from offering medical information or other such assistance to outside state or federal law enforcement related to patients reproductive statuses; and loosen zoning restrictions for reproductive health facilities.
Argument for: The measure would further protect abortion freedoms in San Francisco by ensuring that those who come to The City to seek treatment wont face persecution and will have increased access to services and comprehensive reproductive health information.
Argument against: The measure would discriminate against pro-life facilities in The City and make it harder for these establishments to provide their services.
