Viral video of homeowner sectioning off part of Laguna Beach from beachgoers sparks debate

This is all over California news.

In a statement, the City of Laguna Beach says that "Laguna Beach Park Rangers spoke with the residents, informing them that such behavior is unacceptable regardless of property boundaries and reminding them that any beach related issues should be reported to the city for mediation.

I read that Coastal Commission contacted the property owner and told her she doesn't own the beach

I would hear about this kind of thing all the time. When I worked in land surveying, we ran into people like this person all the time.

Some people are well aware that, if they just complain and act like a douche, they will get their way. 'Squeaky wheel' and all that. However, I did once hear a decent comeback to that phrase. When this person heard the saying, he replied, "No, the 'squeaky wheel' gets replaced!"
